I Am Not a Jukebox
This past weekend I had the opportunity of spinning a pretty cool party. It was at a restaurant / club that was posh, sexy and fun. The food was super good too! Sushi, Belisimo! Another thing they had that was cool, was a Serato box (audio interface for the Serato scratch live DJ software) all ready installed in the slightly elevated DJ booth.
I know its expensive for the clubs to have the interface installed full time, but for so many of us DJ’s who use the Serato Scratch Live software, I think it would be fantastic if more clubs had them installed. Especially if all of the clubs DJ’s resident DJ’s use Serato. (more…)
DJ Swing Spinning a Spinning Class
What’s up world! I know its been a minute since my last post. I’ve spent some time working on some cool projects. I know your all gonna love ‘em. The one I want to tell you about is all about spinning. Me spinning, you spinning, we all spinning!
My friend Whitney, who is a spinning instructor at Equinox gym on South Beach, had asked me for some cool uptempo hip hop and house cd’s to use for her class a while back. I gave her some fun mix’s that I had made and the the class loved the cd’s. Whitney kept getting requests for them.
Whitney and I were thinking instead of giving a CD to the people, why not give the people me! Well, not to have me like go home with each and every one of them… But have me at the class! A live DJ spinning at the Spinning class?!?! How cool of an idea is that?! So we talked about it for a while- ran it by the boss and we’re finally doing it! (more…)
